It's a Wild Wild Life
When: After a trip to California
Where: Central Park, New York.
Who: OTA
What:
The Rift has been active once again and Jack has taken a small group with him to of all places Central Park. It was nice to have localized activity above the HUB it was easier to find but it made the immortal uneasy.
Jack turned around with his Webley in one hand. He listened to his cheerleader under the HUB giving him and the others directions. The energy signal is a strange one that is leading him closer towards the Central Park zoo. It's a bright sunny day with families and tourists flocking over to see the exhibits.
"Hey, is anyone feeling a little strange?" Jack turns his head around and with an influx of people in the area he reholsters the gun. "Please, let's try not to cause anyone to panic." He tells the people with him and with a motion of his hand he gives a silent order to put the guns away. He pushes himself through the turn-style and he begins to make his way through the mass of people who are enjoying the warm weather.
'Careful Jack, you're getting closer to it's location. It's located in a far corner of the zoo grounds.' Toshiko says, through the commlink to everyone on the surface.
"I promise someone that we can do some guns a wavin," Jack jokes, but the matter is far from one as his hand slides into the pocket of his greatcoat when he pushes through a group of onlookers near a group of flamingos.

The zoo was a horrible place for The Doctor and he hated seeing anything denied its freedom. He was here for Donna's sake, she went through so much since their return to Earth. They're stuck. It's not exactly a bad place to be stuck at either. "Donna let's leave our friends here and let's have an ice cream in the shape of a bear."
no subject
That sounds like a great idea. Banana for you, right? Chocolate for me, please.
[She offers his hand for him to take.]
no subject
Then that ice cream better be monkey shaped. Things here have been quiet other than that fish who tried to nick a cricket ball from a kid. I can't say I mind this at all.
[He takes Donna's offered hand and he leads her to the concession stand that's selling animal shaped ice cream bars.]
Okay, maybe I do mind it. There's something always wrong with too much quiet because there's always something that goes wrong to break it.
no subject
[She pokes him.]
Everytime you make it out that everything is great is the second things go wrong!
[But it's said playfully enough. She gets herself a Mickey Mouse shaped ice cream.]

"Havin' fun down there, HB?" She asks her big demon buddy, who's stuck in the sewers for this one. Crowds and eight foot tall guys with tails? Not exactly a great combo.
"Fuckin' perfect. I discovered a new smell." Red snarked back over some static. "Ya find it yet, I wanna go home. That or shoot somethin', I ain't picky."
Liz just rolled her eyes before replying to Hellboy. "Promise you'll be the first to know in either case." She said before moving closer to their boss. "What is this thing anyway, Jack? This place is crowded as hell, we need to find it like...now."

He looks around and he listens to Tosh's directions. "Might want to ask him exactly what he found down there." He wants to head back home too and this is better than sulking around in Vegas watching tumbleweeds. The girls, booze and gambling were wonderful. He turns around to look at a chimp who's sprawled out on a rock. "Look, it's Captain Jack sunning himself!" Owen chimes in and he goes to follow behind Jack and he's expecting a retort from the immortal.

"I'm not exactly sure what it is but it's giving out some type of energy reading. It's not moving so it's not alive. Well, I hope it's not alive." Jack's moving the scanner around and he listens to the bleeps. A peacock begins to follow the group. "How about seafood take-out tonight?" Jack asks at random and he's got his own cravings and a bit of fish is one of them. "I know of a place that has an amazing lobster stew."

Down in the sewer, Red snorts, and shakes his head in spite of the fact no one will see him since he's the only one stuck in a maze of crap right now. "Ya think is smells up there..." The demon starts before bashing his head on a low opening. "Damn. Boss, hurry up an' find that thing and get me the hell outta here for I'm stuck wrestlin' a gator!"
Liz tries so hard to be all business with all three of the guys being extra crabby. "You guys, focus." Liz looks back at Owen when Jack suggests seafood. She still wants extra bloody steak, no idea why. "Am I even allowed to eat seafood?" She asks as she looks around the crowd of people before asking Jack, "If whatever it is was alive, there'd be more running, don't you think?"

"I'm thinking a monkey, it's the bananas." The Doctor's leaning outside of the Reptile Exhibit and he's here to keep an eye on the hungry Master. "You're very hypnotic Master." The Doctor's got a frozen banana in his hands and he munches on it.
He looks at a chameleon and he smiles at the slow moving reptile. "I think he's like me. He's a bit weird in the eye."

The Master set his TARDIS down near the entrance to the zoo of Central park, disguising it as a large oak tree. He knew the Doctor would come back to Earth, probably sooner rather than later. The Master had used the scanners of his TARDIS to detect any activity that might attract the Doctor's attention. An unusual energy signal had led the Master to New York City. He just hoped one of the Doctors came to investigate. In the meantime, the Master wandered the zoo, keeping to the shadows and loosing himself in large crowds.

"That's highly appropriate. The question is what is happening at the zoo? And, why a zoo, of all places?"

"You're telling me. The sparrows and squirrels are lacking a certain grace today." Alisa points to a pair of sparrows that miss their mark on a tree and the squirrel that's unable to keep it's balance on a wire. "I think they're spiking the nuts and the bread crumbs."

The energy signal continues to pulsate from the building and it will take some effort to get down into the abandoned enclosure.
The Doctor's companions and enemies find themselves smaller, larger, with extra hair, feathers or even scales.
