Time for some TARDIS repairs
When: Moving Day Plot
Who:
captain_flyboy/OTA
Where: The Captain's TARDIS but the doors are open for anyone to wander in
What: The Captain was glad he wasn't a snake anymore, he couldn't really understand how anyone could get along without thumbs, hands and yes even arms when it came down to it. He enjoyed working with all three when he needed to think. It had been fun being an animal again, it gave him a perspective of things he wouldn't have had before. He had to admit he had enjoyed the move too, it had been a long time since he'd traveled to one place with the intention of staying put.
So he was taking the time to make some adjustments to his girl while Glen Miller played softy in the background and he hummed along.

She finds The Captain's TARDIS and she goes to peer inside. "Hey, I see someone else is enjoying the nice weather." She's also got a bone to pick with the fact her mp3 player is a mess. "Nice weather and there's something seriously wrong."
"My mobile, ipod, laptop and you should see the HUB." The ipod is held out to The Captain to see. Things aren't looking good right now and there's no answer as to what happened.

A moment later and his K9 comes rumbling out. "Yes Master," it says brightly. "K9 keep working on the calbration please. I still don't like the way she sounds under there."
The robot dog wags it's tail and greets Alisa with a happy. "Hello Mistress Alisa," before heading under the console.
"Do you want me to poke around and see what's going on," he asks, "I haven't had a good poke around for a while."
no subject
She watches K-9 pop out with a smile, the old robotic dog can't help but to make her smile. "Hello, there K-9, sorry I don't have any doggie snacks for you." Things are just wrong here and she leans forward to watch the Captain for a moment. "Jack's has been moody but she's just a kid compared to the other TARDIS here."
If it wasn't serious, Alisa would of found some humor but oh there's no harm. "It's always you with the poking isn't it?"

"I don't know, this whole starless thing is strange," he comments, "but other than the fact that we can remember stars but no one else can. But I think it is more than that and the ships may be picking up on it."
no subject
Something Jack said bothered him though. His brow furrowed and he stepped closer, looking back and forth between the two of them. "Starless thing?" He felt like he was out of the loop. That happened quite a bit lately. He really needed to catch up on his modern history. "What... um, thing?"
no subject
"Jack." She offers with a smile and she wonders how to explain it. "There's no stars, planets or anything in the sky. I take you've got a good look at the sun. Things are going very wrong."
no subject
He taps his sonic screwdriver against his thigh as he thinks. "if we could find the starting point for all of this, maybe we could work out a way to fix it."
no subject
"I noticed. The sun doesn't look like... Like anything I've ever seen before." His head tilted to the side and he turned to Jack. "What about going through news reports? Find when there was the first report of signs about this? The way you explained it to me, the media is not like I remember it. Right?"
He looked at the TARDIS console, trying to remember what Jack had taught him. "We find the first news report, then we go back past that to other things? Weather reports. NASA. We have that clearance, right? There must be something we can do."

She watches the other man with The Captain's TARDIS console and she frowns. "I think it's more complicated than this. Somehow the lack of stars seems to mean no space program?"
"It's hard sitting right here right now but I'm going to trust something on this scale to The Doctor."
no subject
"Star Cults...now that is just sad," he remarks to the other Jack and Alisa. He switches the scanner off and sighs.
"I have a feeling the Doctor might be mixed up in this. It would be just like him to give the Earth a sun when the universe is falling apart."

Alisa's comments scare him a little. "No space program?" His eyes widen and he can't help but be shaken about that. "From everything I've read trying to get caught up, the space program is what helps the world? Landing on the moon and things like that. It's just gone?"
He frowns and he leans against the wall, not sure what to think about that. "Cults will always happen, sadly. If the Doctor is mixed up in this, we should try to help him."
no subject
"So, you think The Doctor gave the Earth something to act as the sun?" Alisa asks and she gives the younger Jack a nod of her head. "Yes, even then people took it to be a big hoax all filmed in a basement in Burbank. I checked some local libraries and there's nothing. You should see the airports."
They haven't seen Jack's Doctor in sometime and she pulls her legs up onto the jump seat with a bit of difficulty. "Cults aren't anything new like Jack is saying and we haven't seen The Doctor in sometime."
no subject
Alisa's question makes him and nod. "I wouldn't say gave, but I think he's invoked with whatever that sun is."
no subject
"If he cares as much as you all say he does, we owe it to him to try to help. I just wish I knew how."
no subject
She knew The Doctor always came around when there was something grave to happen to the Earth. Well most of the time he was there for them in their darkest hours except the events of the 456. She places her head in her hands and then she looks a bit down. "If he's out there doing something about this."
no subject
"We can't give up on him or ourselves, that won't do anyone any good."
no subject
"I don't think we're giving up, Jack. We just... We don't know what to do. You both have been in much worse situations than I. The whole space and time thing is new to me. I'm trying. The only thing I've ever done is fly in a war and turn into an eagle. And that was confusing." He sighed. "I want to help, but how?"
no subject
"No, we're not giving up, he'll come to us if he needs the help." Alisa looks at the original Jack and she then looks down at herself. "I won't be of much help right now. It will either get more confusing or less confusing as time goes on."
no subject
He squeezes each hand. "And Alisa's both right and wrong. She's right that the Doctor will come to us when he needs us, but she's wrong that she won't be much help. We can all help, but using our eyes, ears and other sense to gather information the Doctor might need."
no subject
"But what if we don't see the right thing? I am afraid I might miss something. That I won't know what I'm looking for," he said hesitantly. "What if I gather the wrong information and miss something vital. That's my only worry. I just want to help."
no subject
She knows exactly how these two feel in a smaller way. She wasn't taken out of her time to do something tribal some three thousand years in her past. When she's told she's got a place there it results in a frown. "How? I'm five months pregnant Jack. I'm going to be huge or bigger...I'll do research in the bathroom."

"You're right, Jack. So... Where do we start?"
