Placed in charge of an orphanage.

The elves had always intended to place Loki at work with children, most of them favoring a teaching position of some kind. The Dalek attack on Earth, however, had changed matters. Though the battle was won and many had fought bravely, the Daleks were formidable and deadly. Many humans were dead and many children were now without parents. They needed someone to care for them.

Caring for humans was something they intended for Loki to learn and the elves agreed with each other that this was a golden opportunity for their charge. Oh, they didn't expect him to like it, really. He would sulk and fume, but...he would also take care of the children. It was well known that the younger Odinson had a soft spot for children, being a mother himself.

So, a few short days after the Daleks left, the elves brought Loki into the heart of Los Angeles and placed him at the orphanage. They had used their own talents to have him installed as the orphanage director, under the name of Luke Serrure. Loki sighed, but went up the steps. The All-father had placed the elves in charge, so he had no choice. It was time to go to work.
