Who Opened My Gift?!
When: Masters Wardrobe Plot
Who: Owen Harper
wanker4life/OTA
Where: The Manor - The Box (Farlorne)
What:
Owen was going to sneak out of Jack's TARDIS to take a walk around the house to take a look at some of the gifts. The box in particular had drawn Owen's attention at the reception and still there was something more to it. And the fact it's wide open gets Owen's attention, he's dressed for a bit of time outside with his leather coat, jeans and of course a t-shirt to add for color weather wear.
The snow in the living room was a give away that there's something strange but Owen managed to slip on one of Robbie's toys and into the box he tumbled face first into the snow. He's far from happy looking, for starters to be met with a face full of snow and the second is the fact Robbie had a toy in the middle of the floor.

She throws on a robe that's meant for indoor wear only and goes to try and figure out why it's so cold in here only to find that HUGE present they never got around to opening laying open on the floor next a pile of snow.
"What the hell?" Liz steps closer and a breeze hits her bare legs like one that should be outside. "Um..." She tilts her head down and moves a little closer to the box.
She knows better than to go snooping in a giant box that's spitting snow in a robe, a t-shirt and not much else, doesn't she?
....apparently not.

"I'll give you my jacket." Owen knows those rules of marriage and with Liz being pregnant there's no need to risk her getting sick. He turns around to see anyway of getting back out no longer there. "Oh. Bollocks!"
"I hope someone's there to look after Robbie." Owen's going to reach for his mobile and he tries to call for help.
no subject
Liz might recognize him as resembling old Lurch but this one tends to talk a bit too much. "I've seen a bunch of people walking that way. And, maybe we should follow them."
The lack of pants gets a raised eyebrow. "And, take this before you catch cold." The Doctor slides his rainbow colored coat off and he hands it over to Liz.
no subject
So...of course... Damn it!
That voice is familiar enough to her. "Oh, hell." Liz groans before she turns around to see the Doctor. "Do people put out freaking memos when I'm knocked up so that you show up?" She asks, remembering the way a Doctor sort of like this one was there when they found out about Robbie.
"Yes, let's walk around in a huge freezing forest with blowing snow that covers tracks in seconds. Brilliant plan." She declines the Doctors offer of this coat, too. Liz may not have the best fashion sense in the world with the uniform of Jeans, boots, t shirt, jacket but even she has her limits.
Liz looks at Owen and frowns. "I'm making a fire." She says matter of factly before pressing her very warm hands against his face. "You're freezing."
no subject
Then there's 'Lurch' who opts to show himself. Owen was always wondering where he wandered off to. "Where the fuck did you wander off to?" Owen chides The Doctor without knowing this isn't his old meta-crisis.
He holds the jacket out to Liz still and he snorts when The Doctor offers his brightly colored coat. "Well if there's something out here that wants to kill us it will cause of you standing out like a sore thumb."
no subject
He shoots a look at Liz when she and Owen mention knowing him. "I'm sure we've never met. I'm The Doctor by the way and staying here will result in us being a frozen meal for a pack of wolves. These ones aren't exactly nice wolves either."
no subject
She IS wearing underwear. Granted it's 'I just got married and want to impress my husband so these are the size of a postage stamp' underwear but it IS there.
Liz's head darts around when she hears the howling. "Blood countess..." She mutters to herself, remembering that mission where she had to torch a pack of hungry wolves to save herself from being eaten. "Nah, couldn't be." She backs a little closer to Owen, looking up at him before she nods at the Doctor."OK, fine. Where do you suggest we go? This isn't exactly familiar territory."
no subject
That was when he heard the voices. He stood up and brushed the snow off his pants then headed quickly in that direction, his white wolf Diefenbaker next to him. He thought he might hear wolves as well, other less friendly wolves, which was something to worry about. Well there was safety in numbers. He waved to the people the moment he saw them, calling out. "Hello there!" But then he got close enough to notice the young woman's lack of clothing. He slipped slightly with a sudden stop. "Oh!" Benton flushed embarrassed and turned around so his back was to the woman, politely giving her a chance to get clothed. "Ah, my apologies. I hadn't realized you were..." he faltered for a polite phrasing to use. "Well, um, yes, sorry."
no subject
Then there's a rumble from deep in the forest. "Right, come on the two of you before Liz's ass freezes off."
Its then when they're met with a man who's dressed in more red than the guards at Buckingham Palace and he goes to point out. "What brought you here? Wait. You lot can't talk. Where'd the fur cap go mate?" He eyes the wolf and he wonders if that was what was howling out there. "Well let me guess, you're loss then like the rest of us."
no subject
The rumble's ignored for the arrival of Fraser. "He's not part of the Royal Guard. He looks like he's a Mountie. And, before any of you start he's part of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police."
"So, yes join the party of the lost travelers of a horrible little crack in space. I'm The Doctor, that there is cranky and the other slightly nude woman is well half naked."
no subject
She'd be fine with her ass hanging out for Owen to see, because he's seen it plenty. The Doctor well..she kinda knows him. They used to make a meta crisis version of the Time Lordstand outside the locked bedroom door when he was invisibly tethered to Owen and Liz wanted (cough) alone time. Yeah...long story she'd rather not think about, thank you.
Liz squeaks when she hears the new voice. Now, she actually is embarrassed. She ducks behind Owen then holds her hand out to the Doctor. "Coat, please." She demands expectantly before addressing the Mountie.
"Don't listen to Rainbow Bright," She says to the new guy. "I'm Liz. This is my fian- erm...husband, Owen. And." She nods to the Doctor. "He is the Doctor, actually." Liz says with an exaggerated eyeroll. "You from this planet or what?" Yes, she just asked that like it was a perfectly normal question.
no subject

"He's Canadian not an alien from another planet." The Doctor defends poor Fraser and he still continues to ignore the grumbling in the distance and the howling that follows. "We can exchange long stories while on the run. I suggest that we start moving and hope that we can find even more answers on the way."
He pauses. "That and my TARDIS."
no subject
There's that grumble in the distance and Owen glances down at the wolf. "You can tell us about how you got the wolf while we go for a walk. I'd like to avoid being whatever is out here's dinner."
no subject
Liz takes the coat from the Doctor and wraps herself up. It's long and she's short so it's like a messed up patchwork dress. "Where the hell did you even get this thing?" She grumbles to the Doctor before looking at Fraser. "Hey." Liz nods a greeting to him and then looks at the wolf dog before the Doctor points out where Fraser must be from.
"Yeah, the whole Royal Canadian Mounted Police bit kinda filled that part in, Doc." She's in the snow, in an ugly coat, knocked up and supposed to be on a nice honeymoon soon but nooooooo. Liz is at her snarktastic best, or should that be worst? "Anybody bring a gun?" Liz asks casually as she links her arm through Owen's to try and keep him warm. "Or know which way we should go?"
no subject
He glanced back when she said hey and noticed she was now more properly attired and turned around to look at them. It was a strange group. He tipped his hat. "Hello." He looked around the forest at her question. "Well, as a matter of fact, I am currently carrying my standard issue sidearm." Though he really wished he had a rifle right now. "Unfortunately I am not familiar with this area." He looked embarrassed. "I can't recognize any landmarks from the area I had been in. I was actually rather hoping that your group might have some idea." But he wasn't one to just give up. "However I am quite familiar with celestial navigation so we just need wait until we can get a good look of the stars and I can decipher a likely location and direction from that." He still had no idea that he wasn't on Earth.
no subject
"Hello again, but really why must everyone be so quick to jump the gun, I'm sure if we start moving we won't have to worry about resorting to violence." The Doctor says, with a frustrated tone at everyone. "Yes."
Of course they're on another world completely so the stars and where they are is likely different. There's more than one moon in the sky and its going to make things a bit more interesting for Fraser. "Lead on then my good man."
no subject
He's happy to let The Doctor take control of things here and he places an arm around Liz. "I'll be fine once we're back home." He looks at Fraser and of all places for the copper to find himself stuck at. "Well, I've got my gun with me."
"Well violence against us is something I'm not about to stand for Doctor. If you want to sing and dance with whatever is out there go for it. I've got my wife to protect."
no subject
She raises a brow as the Mountie speaks, then frowns. "Shit." She mutters under her breath, realizing this guy is a hell of a lot more lost than he realizes he is. That is never, ever easy. "I donno if we have time to wait, Constable."
Liz cast a worried look over to Benton then to the Doctor. "Maybe we should see if our Doctor friend has anything that can help us...I donno...scan things." She shoots him a pointed look, having no idea the Time Lord wouldn't have that trusty sonic screwdriver thingy on him.
"Well, I left my gun in my pants, and my pants at home." Liz says curtly. She lets Owen go on about the protecting her thing. She's supposed to be a normal, pantless girl and not a walking napalm strike. "Thank you, dear." She smiles at Owen, though it looks a bit like she humoring him.
no subject
He frowned. "I don't think I will be able to make any educated guesses about the correct direction to go. So unless anyone here is more familiar with this... region, one direction is as good as any." He felt better saying region instead of planet. "I just wish I knew if any of those stars were fixed points." So that they could be certain they were walking straight in one direction. He shrugged. "We might as well make the best of it." He decided with his eternal optimism. Now wasn't the time to freak out about this. This was a dangerous environment temperature wise. Who knew how dangerous it was due to the indigenous life forms?
no subject
He holds his finger up in the air and he ums. "I'm familiar with this type of thing." The Doctor doesn't go to point out that he's the 'alien' among humans. "Well we're all alien here. Mmmm, lets see where are we? If I had my TARDIS this would be a lot easier to figure out. My guess is we're somewhere in the Proxima system."
The Doctor shudders and there's the sound of the wolves getting closer, they're in sight as they come up at the edge of the forest. There's four of them and there's the sound of chattering coming up behind them.
They're a tall and ugly bunch of trolls that don't look too happy about intruders.
no subject
He glances over to Fraser and The Doctor for a moment. "He's all nutter. Don't worry, but yeah we'll explain that when we're safe." He's hoping Liz won't have to expose her fiery goodness to the world. He's going to take her hand and he's going to just keep walking in the direction Benton picked out.
"We'll just take a good wild guess. Let's just hope we don't die before we find somewhere safe to hie and call for help."
no subject
The wolves are smarter than your average wolf and they wait for the word from the troll commander.
The Doctor and friends still have a lead on them, the trolls snicker. "I hope they have riches that we can steal and meaty bones." They're wearing armor that resembles the plates of a spaceship's that may of crashed here before. "The last bunch was too stringy!"
no subject
She closes her eyes and ignores the wolves before shooting Owen one of those glances they've perfected after all this time. "If thing need to get...hot." She says all too casually to him. "You get them out of here. Doctor, too. He seems...even more reckless than the one we know."
Then the new voices make her drop Owen's hand. "Shit." She turns back to look at the newest pursuers. "Trolls. Seriously. It had to be trolls." She sighs and steps a little closer to the bunch that wants to make a meal of them.
"Go. Now." Liz says firmly, paying specific attention to Fraser. "I got this. We'll explain later. Just run."
no subject
He heard Owen comment about trolls. "Now, just because we are on a strange world with strange people there is no need to be rude." And then he saw the creatures coming after them. "Unless it is a fairly accurate description." He added weakly. He frowned. "I wonder if they follow old myths about a weakness to fire or inability to move in sunlight." He clung to the bits of things he knew from his wide variety of studies. When you had little to do but read and the grandparents you lived with were librarians you picked up all sorts of things.
He looked at Liz. "You can't mean for us to just abandon you. Surely we stand better together. And have we abandoned the option of attempting to speak with them first? They might not be a danger." His instincts said splitting up in a strange environment was not a good thing to do.
no subject
"I can't leave you guys alone for five seconds," he says glancing around at the motley group. "Liz what the hell are you wearing it looks like a clown threw up all over you."
His eye then falls on the one person he doesn't know, a handsome man no less and he grins. "And you picked up a stray to boot nice." He offers his hand.
"Captain Jack Harkness....and you are?"
no subject
He still isn't going to leave anyone behind and its Fraser that he's worried about, the others seem to be familiar with being on another planet. He'll ask questions later and he turns around to hear the new voices. "Flirting? Why are you flirting when we're about to face almost certain death." The Doctor seems put off by everything and he points in the direction the wolves and trolls aren't in.
"I'd say we regroup somewhere else first."
no subject
Of course there just has to be a Jack there with them and he frowns. "Maybe we should let Jack take care of them." His idea seems sound and he'd hate for anything to happen to Liz and the wee ones so soon.
"Doctor, you'll get used to it. Really don't be too uptight about it." Owen says, as he continues to drag him away from the patch of ground they're on but of course with The Doctor moving away is making this easier. "Jack we'll save introductions for when we're not about to become troll chow."
no subject
He hefts his big sword up in the air and he yells. "CHARGE!" The trolls are quick to fall in line and so do the wolves as they begin to rush towards the lost travelers.
There's another grumble coming from the sky and it seems that it's not just the trolls that are here for the people in the box.
no subject
She'd rather not out herself in front of Fraser, but when she hers the Trolls charge she's got no choice. If she doesn't make the fire come out, it'll do it on its own to protect her.
Liz's head jerks up at the sound. She lets her entire body cover in blue fire, complaining all the while. "I'm gonna have to burn down this whole damn forest, aren't I?"
Let's hope those trolls and wolves aren't fireproof.
no subject
That in itself had him half doubting his earlier decision that he should object to their plan. Even if it left what seemed like a defenseless, barely dressed woman behind. One who was seeming oddly unchilled. His mind was pushing around that conundrum around in his mind as he pulled out his gun when the trolls, and his mind skipped on that idea for a second… trolls, really?.. as the trolls ordered the charge. Diefenbaker stayed at his side growling, but seeming oddly reluctant to charge ahead. And then several questions were answered as Liz went on fire. “Oh, dear.” He whispered. It actually had him pause in shock and surprise
no subject
"Nice to meet you," he says to Benton, "I'd shake your hand but we are in a bit of trouble, and anyone who isn't burn proof should be moving.....possibly like NOW,"
He stands between Benton and Liz just in case. "Oh I hope this doesn't hurt much....I'm not in the mood."
no subject
Its the grumble from above that has the best luck as a wall of fire pours down from above on the remaining trolls and wolves. There as clear as day is a massive golden dragon.
With the threat gone for now the dragon goes to settle himself down on the ground. "I see there is more of you here." The dragon speaks and it begins to stalk towards the party of humans and the Time Lord in question.
no subject
He looks to see the trolls defeated by the attack from Liz and then there's the assault from above thanks from the dragon. "And it seems we've had a little intervention from one of the locals." He looks around for a bit. "Hello!" The Doctor's knowledge of creatures of other worlds being friendly more than hostile can sometimes be a problem. "And, I should say, thank you also for the help... "
no subject
Owen goes to find some cover behind a large tree and eventually it's all over. Its very over and he looks over to see a big giant dragon that speaks English. "Oh fuck." Owen gets out of his mouth and he groans when The Doctor is being too friendly.
"I just hope this wasn't a pissing match on who gets to eat us first." He grumbles when he steps out from hiding to rejoin the others.

She manages not to explode, but fine control of the fire is just as exhausting to her. She's let so much energy lose it takes her a moment to realize she's not the only one torching the bad guys.
Liz falls to her knees after she calls her fire back inside her and looks upward. After a quick glance around to make sure everyone who's not immortal is still standing, Liz lets out a very harsh laugh and looks up again at the massive dragon. She can't help thinking she kind of misses Weevils and aliens over this supernatural mythical stuff."You take it from here." She says before flopping unceremoniously into the snow. It's not exactly ladylike but at least it cools her body down enough someone could touch her.
She's not passed out yet, but she's close.

Finally he approaches the beast and calmly asks. "Who are you and why did you just help us."
Suicidal bravery thy name is Jack Harkness.
