When: Master's Wardrobe Plot
Who: Ianto Jones
mrcoffeejones/OTA
Where: The Manor House
What: Ianto wasn't sure he wanted to go but perhaps he could get some help as far as Ivy's concerned. That and The Doctor toted the trip as being family friendly. Ianto was checking out the over done kid's rooms with hammocks and the excessive amount of toys in the room. Ianto picks up an old mechanical monkey with the symbols and he stares at the thing. It's creepy that's for sure and the entire place was exactly that. The Welshman can hardly believe anywhere in the middle of the German occupation of most of Europe was safe.
"So this is his idea of a vacation?" Ianto asked the monkey and he goes to put it on the hammock for Ivy. "I'd consider Rio or maybe a pleasure planet to be a vacation. Maybe even Rio in the 24th century would be better than this. At least I brought plenty of coffee. I hardly call postum drinkable coffee."

Ianto's trying he really is trying and he asks. "So are you enjoying The Doctor's little holiday for everyone?"
no subject
"It is enlightening. Entertaining at the very least." She steps closer to Ianto and pushes at the hammock. "Are you adjusting as you hoped?" Ivy doesn't mean with the trip, but she's afraid her imposition has upset Ianto.

"I'm still getting used to this idea of being responsible for you. I'll get used to it as time goes on." Ianto looks at the hammock and he scoots over so she can seat herself down on it with him.

"I did not mean to make things difficult for you and Patrick." Ivy watches her new 'daddy' move over. She looks between him and the hammock a moment before she sets aside the pink pony and climbs up. "It's not easy for me either, but Patrick assures me that we will all be fine."

He helps her up. "Its okay. I'm sure at some point children may of been in the picture. Well the others would eventually grow-up to be seven-year-olds." Ianto tried to put things in that light and it does make things easier on him in the end. "We will be fine. Patrick was a father before so he's got a bit more experience than I do."

Ivy accepts he help with no complaint, sitting awkwardly a moment before she rests her head on Ianto shoulder, snuggling him gently as a child would her father. "He fathered a child, yes." Ivy points out. Sadly Patrick's criminal record is fully documented in Ivy's mind. Even so, she wanted him. In fact, the lengths he went to to find that child was proof to Ivy that Patrick did not easily give up on something he wanted. "You are doing fine." She says, looking down at the plush pony she left. "No one has ever bought me a toy unless I asked for it first before."

Ianto tries to keep himself from tensing up when Ivy snuggles up against him, he lifts his arm up and he puts it around her for support. He knows all about Patrick's past. The issue with Danny and of course there's Angie still. "I'll grow into it. I'm not alone when it comes to lack of experience at least." His eyes wander down at the plush pony that she left behind. "You didn't have anything. It was a given a kid in your situation would appreciate a couple toys."

She notices. "I'm sorry." Ivy nearly pulls back, but Ianto is faster than she is. She lets out a sigh that's a mixture of content and worry. She nods her head gently against him before picking her head up with a smile. "I would like to watch the show, if I may." Yes, she knows EVERYTHING about My Little Pony, but she's never watched. It's not easy to keep a television functioning with how often magic and wizards had been around her before. "Please."

"Its okay. That's a bit normal even for my close friends," Ianto admits, and of course he still managed to find himself a nice suit in the TARDIS wardrobe that fits with the current style. He stares at the pink pony for a bit. "You should be able to watch it in Jack's TARDIS. I don't believe this is the era of kids television."
no subject
"Why are you afraid?" She asks, her head tilting worriedly. She doesn't care about the ponies anymore. They can figure that out later.

"They exercise a greater level of caution in dangerous situation with the knowledge that there is someone who wants them to live other than themselves."
no subject
He smiles at that. "I've got more reason to be careful then. I'd hate to see you without a parent again." The words have plenty of sincerity behind them. "You deserve what ever other kid here has."

She nods, pausing a moments before she hugs Ianto tightly. Patrick likes it when Ivy hugs him so she hopes Ianto feels the same. The hugs is quick though. "I have all I need now."
