I'm the House Keeper!

When: Master's Wardrobe Plot
Who: The Doctor [livejournal.com profile] stetsons_r_cool/OTA
Where: The TARDIS - The Los Angeles HUB

What:

The Doctor wasn't going to call all of his hard work on that country manor a bust. There was a lot of activity in the HUB and The Doctor could see this. He's also unaware that his younger self had crossed his time stream and that will make for an interesting discovery when he returns to the TARDIS.

Still he wanders the halls of the HUB and he goes to head into the main offices. He goes to grab a chair and he flops himself down. "You lot work too hard! There's not a soul that's scratching at the doors to get out for a little adventure? I'm not talking about a slobbery reanimated dinosaur or a weevil. And, really heaven and hell? That's taking up too much time!" He leans forward to go through someone's paperwork and he ruffles through it. It's boring and he tosses it over his shoulder only to watch it go all over the place. "I've always wanted to do that."

"Of course it is," grumbles Andrew into his hand, from where he's pinching his nose in frustration. "It's got a hitron power source I want for something else. And there wasn't a need to get in order, no, until you went and scattered it everywhere."

Is he really this annoying? He consoles himself with the fact that the eleventh Doctor isn't actually him in the strictest sense as he gets out of his chair and starts shoving the papers back into one pile.

"Then I'll sit on the floor and bring them with me - in order." Someone may have inherited some of Donna's tendency toward efficiency in the office. Andrew finishes gathering the papers into a loose pile and stands up to put them back on the desk, giving them an almost hurt look at the thought of having to sort them again.

"Why don't you go play with Märet or something?" he asks.

"I haven't said no," Andrew points out, eyebrows raised. "I just...there're things I have to do, alright? And yeah, we have pictures of dead people. Jack says it's useful, like CSI."

He sighs. World War II for the holidays? Really? "You sure about that?"

"Wouldn't be much of a holiday if I work," mutters Andrew to himself. They could come back to the same time, right? Assuming they could get to the same time again; knowing the Doctor they'd probably end up two months late after being gone a week.

"The children wouldn't be exposed to it if someone didn't go around throwing those things on the floor where everyone can see them," retorted Handy, rolling his eyes. "And you do realize we could go to any other time period and you wouldn't have to reassure me about how the Nazis probably aren't going to bomb us?"

Siiigh. Andrew's just in a bad mood, really; it's nothing against WWII-era England (at least, WWII-era England in the countryside).

"We'd better find Narnia while we're there, or I'll be terribly disappointed," he says, keeping an entirely straight face.

"You don't know it'd be war; we might go sail to the edge of the world or something," argues Andrew, more or less just to be difficult. He quickly finishes stacking things on his desk and hops up from his chair as the Doctor scurries off.

"Are we going right this minute? I want to put a locator on Märet before we go, in case he wanders off." He pauses. "After I find Märet."

"Not really, no - if we try to ration he'll probably eat everyone's dinners in one sitting," chuckles Andrew ruefully.

He arches an eyebrow at the Doctor's discomfort. "Do you want to track him down without a locator if he gets lost in World War II Scotland?"

Andrew can tell the Doctor doesn't like the idea of putting a tracker on a grown, sapient being - but Andrew's genuinely concerned about what Märet might get into. "It's not like I'm going to stop him from going where he likes," he points out, trying to justify it. "I just want to know if he roams too far abroad so I at least know where to go pick him up when he has a clash with the locals."

Andrew did deliberately say 'when' rather than 'if.' There's little doubt in his mind that Märet would find some sort of trouble to get into.

"You think so?" he asks. "I'll go get him - and run home to grab clothes, all that boring stuff."
