"No, but it can't always be helped, you know this," Ianto thinks to his Jack with his wife. The fact he's about to start that family of his again.
Then there's Patrick. An ex-wife is in the picture with a college aged son in the background. He loves that man still. He knows none of this is right. He should smack both of them to their senses.
"He tries, but The Doctor isn't always there when we need him most. He's got universes and galaxies to save. He's got to make sure we survive in the past," Ianto's understanding of this, he knows Torchwood isn't exactly in the image of Jack's mentor. "We do the best that we can do. Maybe someday. Maybe you'll find someone again someday." Ianto knows this is highly unfair to both of them.
"I've worn worse, I'll go out for a bit. I'm sure nobody would notice me, they've bloody well forgotten the sky was filled with spaceships and Daleks," Ianto laughs a little bit, he stares down at the pants and then undershirt. "The perfect disguise. I'll forget to shave to add to it."
He'd like Jack to go with him, just to get him out to try living again. "We should go out. Not as lovers, it's not right to your Ianto. Friends. You're hurting still and we're going to fool both of ourselves." Ianto's logic is fighting with his heart, for now logic is winning out but for how long. "Maybe it would be best for you to work again. To prove to yourself you, Captain Jack Harkness are not a monster."
