Who: Gwen and Jack
redtrainers and
nonmoritur
When: Post Gwen and Alisa: here
What; Jack's pissed Gwen put the baby in danger. They fight. He walks out.
Gwen: Gwen made her way into the flat. She was exhausted and she was sure that it showed. She looked a mess. Still, it had been fun. She needed to be there for Alisa to watch her back. And the truth was, she loved her job. She loved what she did and she hated to give it up. She hadn't run after anyone. She was fine and her baby wouldn't be in danger. Still, she was pretty sure that Jack would be very angry with her. She might even have to sleep on the sofa. All because she was feeling trapped. She wished she could make Jack understand, but she was pretty sure that he wouldn't. "Hello? Jack?"
Jack: Jack had already heard about the incident and was not pleased. He couldn't help that she was bored and didn't want to go out except to chase dangerous things. He didn't even do that anymore. He was in the kitchen and he heard he rcome in, calling for him, but he didn't make a move to go to her. He walked into the living room, giving her a look before sitting down on the couch with his coffee and his paperwork in front of him. "Have fun with Alisa?" his tone was clipped and definitely not happy./
Gwen: Gwen nodded her head. "It was a blowfish. All I did was drive. Alisa did all the shooting and all the big, terrible, dangerous things." She stood there, hands on her hips, staring at him with a firm look in her eyes. She wouldn't give on this. She hadn't put her baby in danger. "Nobody was at the Hub when the call came in. We just wanted to do our duty and help."
Jack: "Oh no, Blowfish aren't dangerous," he commented in a cheerful tone as he went back to his paperwork. He licked his lips and then sat back. "And you couldn't have called me or NY or someone else to go handle it? So you had to go prove something?" he was not happy and he wouldn't give on his right to be such.
Gwen: "We figured that everyone was out on a call or doing work." She sighed and reached up, running a hand through her hair. "Yes, it was impulsive. Shouldn't have done it. Should have called you, I get it." She leaned against the doorframe. "I... It was just so much fun, Jack. I drove the SUV. I only drove." She looked at him, biting her bottom lip.
Jack: He listened to everything she said and he couldn't really believe it. All of the what ifs had settled in to his head and while she didn't think it was a big deal, it was to him. He didn't say anything and grabbed his mug, standing up and walking out of the room .
Gwen: "Jack!" She followed him. She refused to let this be the end of it. "Come on, don't do this. Don't you dare this. You put yourself in danger time and time again, when we care about you and we don't want to see something happen to you. We have to sit by and watch because you're the immortal one." She shook her head. "I love you, Jack, but I love what I do just as much. "
Jack: He turned on his heel angrily and looked at her. "That's just it, I'm immortal. You're not," he remarked and turned back around to continue walking. He poured his coffee out and dropped the mug in the sink. "Then fine, keep doing it, go back to work and who cares," he grumbled and left the room to grab his coat.
Gwen: "I'm not going back!" She shook her head and stared at him. "Don't, don't you dare walk out. It was one time." Slowly, Gwen moved over to the sofa and pulled herself down. Her head tilted as she watched him. "I'm big as a house and I can't go anywhere. I just sit, watching myself get larger." She won't cry, not unless he walks out. And, it really looks to her like he might. "I have to carry around this baby and I can't do anything. I miss what I do, Jack. I miss my life. It's hard to just be a mum."
Jack: Jack pulled his coat on and he looked her in the face. "All you have to do is have the baby. Period. I told you I would stay home and play the parent then you can go back to work. That's it. Sue me for wanting you safe and them enabling you into putting yourself in the crossfire. You did it with Anwen because you had to, but this time you had a choice. What if he had shot you, hm? You may not have been thinking about what ifs and the dangers, but i certainly have." He adjusted his collar. "I'm going for a walk." And with that, he left the room and the house.
Gwen: Anything she was going to say after that was mute. With him gone, she lost it. Quietly, she buried her face in her hands and started to let the tears fall. She knew it had been reckless and stupid. She knew that he was right. Being with Alisa had been impulsive. Still, she had missed going out. She had been safe. Nothing had happened, but something did. She made Jack mad. And that broke her heart.
