There are a few things you should never ask a Doctor, and one of them is 'where have you been' another is 'what have you been doing.' The reason behind all of this is that you will get a garbled answer from a man who speaks like an excited child because their thoughts are rushing through their mind faster than their mouth can communicate them. More so from this humannised Doctor, a man who had been trapped in Pete's world until a year or so ago in linear time. A man who had become part of the Tyler family and watched little Tony grow into a smart child, a man who headed Torchwood London in the other universe...

A man who fell through a rift and met different versions of himself and people he knew. A man who finally found his TARDIS.

So with a rather dramatic entrance, well this is the Doctor here, a blue TARDIS seems to crash out of no where and come to a skidding stop on the pavement. Inside the blue box the power started to die as the Doctor frantically ran around trying to make things work. Sparks flew as he hit things, pulled and wires and tried to connect things together to make them work again. Finally everything powered down apart from the console and he knew that it was time to give up the ghost, at least for now. His girl needed to refuel and rest before he could start fixing her.

Stepping out from the TARDIS, the Doctor looked around with a frown on his face, "Oh, good ol'New York, what a wonderful town!"
