His father was dead and Patrick didn't know what he should be feeling. One one hand he was angry because he'd been running around Central Park playing ball, while his father had been suffering alone. And on the other hand he felt a great sense of relief because his father's pain was finally over. He sat in outside the Hub cell phone in hand, just starting at the screen as if it could take back what he had just heard.

His father was dead and Patrick Logan had never felt so alone.
