Pre warning. Can be triggerish due to abuse of various natures.
243 sniffled softly as he cleaned up from his newest punishment, trembling when he jostled his broke arm. He didn't know what he'd done but his owner had come in in a right rage and caught him cause he'd been the slowest of the 'workers' in the kitchen. The mess of food, blood and fluids left after the man's rampage was in turn left to him to straighten. It was a task that was hard to accomplish one handed but he knew from hard won experience that he wouldn't be allowed to bandage his injuries to the kitchen was absolutely spotless...and if it wasn't done by morning's light?
He coughed, wincing as his body protested the extra motion, and carefully threw away the last bit of ruined food before looking around then checking the window. It was one less round of abused he'd receive the next day but it wasn't as comforting a thought as it had been even a year ago...if it had been a year already.
The little slave made his way back to the quarters were the rest were to bandage himself up, stumbling when he started to cough again. He closed his eyes, willing away the pain, but when he opened them he was no longer looking at the Rose marble of the hall nor could he hear the normal sounds of the castle like mansion he served in. He looked around wide, eyed a type of panic clenching at his chest. "Oh no...no no no..."

Esther tilts her head as the translator does it's job. The tech here never stops amazing her. "It's a game, sweetheart." Esther kneels down to distract Gray while Owen gets the sedative. "We call it soccer here. You kick a ball to your friends." She says soothingly with a wide smile. If only there was a ball or something to distract him now.
She flashes Owen a 'hurry up' sort of look before focusing on Gray again, the smile still in place. "Gray. I'm Esther. It's nice to meet you." She has no idea if the translator is making him understand her or not. Esther doesn't mention Owen, no need to draw attention to the guy who's gonna jab the kid with a needle.

Jack on the other hand goes to rush into the medical suite from the main office as fast as he can. The fact Owen told him it was Gray as a child was more pressing then his much older sibling. There's a chance this one hasn't been broken by what happened in the past.
He rushes into the room and he goes to look at the little boy with wide eyes. "Gray of Boeshane..." Jack calls the little guy by name and he walks over towards the gathering by the table.

Only to cringe when someone calls out and whimpering, afraid of being punished.

Esther focuses on Gray again. "It's alright it's alright." She says gently before she hears Jack rush in. She goes to explain what happens with the child and tell Jack his name, but he beats her to the punch.
"How do you know that?" Esther steps back from the table, allowing Jack enough room to get close. "Have you seen him before?" She asks worriedly.

Jack just stops there and he looks at the scared kid, he knows that face, he knows it too well and he's shocked to see him here at this point. His face twists and he tries to keep himself from loosing the composure that he should have.
The what happened, Jack can only guess the what happened and he looks to see if Esther has the translator. "Esther do you have it so it will translate English for him? If not press the green button on the corner."
"Gray, it's okay." Jack tries to be reassuring, and he goes to kneel down at the table. How can he tell the little boy it's his big brother, the big brother that let go of his hand on the beach the worse day of his life. Or one of the worse days of his life.
He looks up to Esther and he looks at her. "Yeah, I saw him so long ago and so far away." He's not sure how to say it. "He's my little brother.." He's not going to throw in the shit of 'my' or 'who's' into anything right now. He's got his terrified little brother right here and Jack's fighting the urge to simply hug him. "Gray. It's me." If there's anything that maybe Gray would recognize it could be those eyes, the face of his big brother..

The boy suddenly tackles the man in a tight hug even as he whimpered as his aching body protested, making him tremble against Jack. "Big brother..."

Before she can even speak the little boy throws himself at Jack with no care of his injuries. "Oh..." Esther worries about the injuries, of course. "The rift?" She looks between Jack and Gray, a bittersweet smile on her face. "Is this good or bad?" She knows nothing of the real story of what happens to Gray that day, but it's clear from the boys reaction that he hasn't seen Jack in far too long.

He's got his brother even if this Gray is not and never will be his. He's got his little brother where no harm, the threat of him breaking isn't there and Jack without consciousness to the injury to the boy goes to give him a big hug. "Little brother... I missed you."
He lets go when he remembers Owen told him he was hurt. "You're safe now and these people are here to help. They're my friends." Jack tries to assure Gray if it's possible. "Yeah, and it can be very good for him. He'll stay with me and Alisa for as long as he wants."

He watches them silently, still clinging to Jack with his good hand.

He looks over to Esther and he recalls he never told her much about him. "We're both from the future." That's all he'll leave Esther with for now. "Three thousand years in the future to be exact."

She watches the boy sway, then looks at her Boss. "Jack, what the hell happened to him?" Esther asks, her voice breaking a bit.

Jack goes to look away from Esther, knowing all too well this isn't his brother by universe he seems uncomfortable to really talk about it. "We ran together, I accidentally let go of his hand and they took him." He knew what happened in the end to his own brother, his brother was broken beyond repair and ended up trying to kill his friends. "These horrible creatures did this to him."
