Where: Starship UK

A bad job of staying out of trouble? That's the typical Doctor but Jack is going to keep close tabs on him. Right now he's seated at a table with the two twins in high chairs and he's ordered something to eat. It looks like a turkey sandwich and even Jack knows a metal ship like this won't give you a real turkey sandwich.
Jack feels a bit at home on the massive starship but Earth has been home for so long. Still it makes a bigger difference to have his family with him to share these adventures with. The boys seem to be enjoy what finger foods they have in front of them that the TARDIS provided them before they left.
"Mom's going to be back. She had to use the bathroom your sisters think she's the set for Dancing with the Stars." Jack laughs, and he takes a bite of his sandwich. He pays the Smilers in the booth not far them no mind. He's been in so many police state situations it's no surprise. He's got some local knowledge but nothing that would have him question things like the pilot.

Liz finally finds a restroom that doesn't make her skin crawl,(To be fair, all public restrooms do that, even the one's in the White House.) It's crowded with other people who had the same idea Liz did, but she notices one vacant stale and she might just have to hurt anyone to tries to get there before she does.
no subject
She doesn't see Liz making her way for the stale and she goes to get herself inside.
There's one of the Smilers sitting in his booth watching over everyone in the bathroom. We can't have any dissenters here now can we? "Gotta pee coming through!" Alisa says, as she almost knocks over a mother with her daughter over.
no subject
"Oh, hell no! You can wait your turn!" Liz shouts as she practically throws herself at the stale, not giving a damn who she's preventing from getting there before her. It's not like she can't deal with a little altercation if someone get's pissy about a stolen bathroom stale. Long as the boss doesn't find out, Liz'll be fine.
no subject
There's a lot of blue stuff all over the floor and Alisa's got a bit of it on her pants. At least, Alisa's not one to wear white often for good reasons. Alisa pushes herself up from the mangled mess of bodies. "Hey! I hope you had a good reason for pushing a pregnant woman into an old woman in a walker!" She slowly gets herself out from the other stale and she's got her fists balled up.
She's got a bit of blue stuff on her and she's up for revenge. Oh, dissenting pregnant women....
no subject
She grabs a stale partition to try and right herself so she can properly kick the hell out of whoever is being so damn selfish that they would deny a pregnant, depressed, generally over emotional firestarter the right to pee first.
The comment about world populating throws Liz before she can start throwing punches. "Alisa?"
no subject
Alisa just stands there looking a bit infuriated and she's ready to toss her own punches. She holds herself back and then she looks at Liz. "Liz?"
The man in the booth turns his weird head around and there on his face is a frown. The Smiler is not happy.
no subject
Then she notices the Smiler's face shift. Liz has been trying to ignore them because frankly they're creepy but it'd be rude to assume creepy is not the norm around here. "What?" She wrinkles her nose at the Smiler's judgmental expression. "She and her husband have money, they can pay to clean this up." Liz says simply, gesturing to Alisa before flashing her friend a pleading look.
no subject
They're going to be drug off to vote and fed to the beast for this outbreak. "Uh, whu....I told you we'd pay for it." Alisa eventually passes out into the blue water as for peeing? So much for the use of the proper facilities.
(ooc: I'll make us a new thread for this stuff. The Jacks, Gwen and Doctor can come save us. :))
no subject
She's out and about, searching for Jack. She hadn't spoken to hardly anyone since the accident. It had been easier to just hide in Jack's room, but hiding was what she couldn't do anymore. The starship is a bit off putting so she doesn't do too much wandering away from the TARDIS.
"How are you, Jack? How's the family?"
no subject
He's wearing a light blue shirt this time with gray braces and his big old greatcoat. "I don't think it will take her too long to come back."
David reaches over for one rocket shaped sip-cup that Alisa picked up from the market here for the two. "Everyone's doing great, the boys are mobile now so in better words they're a handful when they want."
The most important question is asked, Jack hasn't seen Gwen in awhile and he knows she must feel like a ton of bricks where dropped on her shoulders. "The most important question is not about me, but how are you doing today Gwen?"
no subject
"I'm glad. I'm glad to hear that they're all doing okay." She looked down at Anwen, then back up to him. "I'm really worried when she starts to do the crawling thign. She will be all over the place." One eyebrow raised as she looked at the boys. "I hear you two were trying to impress Anwen. I wonder what she thinks of it all."
Anwen turns and smiles at the boys, starting to babble at them. She wonders if they can understand her, like some alien language only they could communicate with.
Her smile fades and she looks up at Jack, her eyes meeting his. "I'm doing okay. I have good days and bad days. You know? I... It was just so sudden. I'm still kind of numb. I don't... I don't know what to feel."
no subject
"In a place like this? You would be chasing her all over the place." Jack laughs, and he leans back into his chair. "These two are a bit of a team when it comes to getting into trouble. They'll do that for one another for the rest of their adult life." Jack glances about the little shops that line the market place. "And just so you know, we're in Cardiff."
The boys begin to babble back and David's going to show off the blue sip-cup. His brother Jon isn't going to be left behind in the conversation either and he shows off a pair of little tan boots. It's more interesting because his brother took his off to go barefoot. Jack watches the three begin to have their own strange conversation and the TARDIS seems to refuse to translate this one.
Jack leaves the little guys to their conversation and his face takes on a more serious look. He gets to be the boss for just a little bit, okay he's still the boss. "It's hard, it never comes easy when you loose someone you love like that." He reaches over to take Gwen's hand in his and he rubs it. He didn't see her when it happen and he needed comforting of his own. "Just don't let it consume you Gwen."
no subject
One eyebrow raises and she stares at Jack in disbelief. "Cardiff?"
Her head turns, eyes narrowing as she gazes around them. To be honest, it looked like a spaceport to her. Not that she really knew what that looked like, but she didn't think it looked like Cardiff. That just showed how upset she was. She didn't even recognize her home. That hurt a little.
"I'm trying very hard," she murmured. "I still have to call his mam. So not looking forward to that one." And she meant it. How do you tell someone something like that? Gwen nodded her head and squeezed his hand. "He was my world. It... It's very hard, Jack."
no subject
"Yes, no they don't look like the places they're named for." Jack's not going to upset her with the details as to what this ship really is. It is exactly what it looks like, nothing will ever replace the original Cardiff in this century that was lost when the sun betrayed the Earth.
His mam, Jack took in a deep breath and he can only imagine. "The Doctor should be able to cross universes. Oh, of course he was your world. The loyal and loving Rhys was a man of his words. He was the hero who got the girl." Jack goes to pull Gwen into a hug and he's going to forget about the lousy sandwich and leave the wee ones to their own conversation.
"You want to see him don't you?" Jack asks Gwen, he's going to have to take her to the TARDIS sick bay one of these days when she's ready.
no subject
"Rhys... He was a good man. He will never be forgotten." A tear slipped down her cheek and she pulled away, reaching up and getting it with her thumb. "He'd have loved to see this. Even if it doesn't look like our Cardiff at all."
She tears away from him and looks down at the little ones. They're lost in their own conversation. It's really endearing to Gwen. It reminds here that this is what is important. This is what they live and fight for.
"I... I do. I tried to find him the other day and I found Owen instead." She could make a joke about cold pricks, but her heart just isn't in it. Owen had been torn up over Rhys too.
no subject
The little ones are doing what they likely will for a long time. Jack can just imagine the little adventures they will have when they're older and he smiles. Jack can't help but to laugh at David when he holds the cup out for Anwen. "You want to get Anwen a new cup don't you?" Jack asks his son and he stands himself up from his seat. "The future of the Earth, it's what makes all of the loss and sacrifices we make worth it in the end Gwen. We get to give a living and vibrant Earth back to our children."
He stands to head over to the little stand with the little 'rocket' cups and he comes back with a pink one. It lights up but the wees might not have it figured out yet. He holds the little cup out for Anwen and he smiles. "Your other Uncle Jack got that for you."
"You can see him when your ready." Jack tells Gwen, he remains in a kneeling position. "It maybe sometime before we can go back to Cardiff to bury him."
no subject
Anwen watches and her eyes go wide when he gives her the cup. Immediately, she grabs it and bounces in Gwen's lap. She squirms, trying to get out of her lap and go to Jack. "I think you've just made her day," Gwen murmured. "Maybe her year. She does seem to like pink." Gwen looked down at Anwen. "What do we say to Uncle Jack?" She didn't say anything, but she did reach for him again.
"I didn't think we'd be going back any time soon. Not until after everything is sorted, at least. Then maybe the Doctor can take me back within a small time. So I can tell his mam before she finds out abou it another way." She sighed and nodded her head to Jack. "He's safe right now, here, with us and the Doctor."
no subject
He looks down at Anwen's face when it lights up at the cup and holds her hands out for him. Jack's not one to deny the wee one a Captain Jack to pick her up. Oh, these little ones have him wrapped around their fingers. This includes the little clones that run around the TARDIS.
"He's in the safest place in the universe." Jack's sure he can sway the Doctor to take him home sooner but with the cracked universe trans-universal flights maybe dangerous.
He turns his attention to one of the juice vendors and he then turns his head to face Anwen. "Here, why don't we get some juice in that cup of yours. "I think pink looks good on her."
no subject
She watches him with the children and it makes her heart smile. One day her Jack is going to be a great father. And she can't wait to see it. He has so much love to give. They really do have him wrapped around their fingers and they know it too. From the way Anwen is giggling up at him, Gwen knows that she knows it.
Gwen isn't too concerned with when they get Rhys home, just as long as they get him home sometime. She knows that the universe is what is important right now. And the Doctor can travel though time as well as space, so that part doesn't worry her. She'll do what she must, put on her Torchwood face and save the world. The rest can come later. That's what Torchwood does. She loves her job and she knows the importance of it.
"It's more her color than yours," Gwen teases. It feels good to laugh and tease. Rhys would want her to move on and live again. Okay, maybe he wouldn't be too fond of her doing it with the Jack's, but there is nowhere else she would rather be.
no subject
He's now getting a little worried, okay very worried and he bites on his lower lip. "Okay, I'm getting a little bit worried. It shouldn't of taken Alisa this long to go to the bathroom." Jack hands Anwen back to Gwen and he looks off in the direction of the bathroom. "Maybe I should head over to see if there's anything wrong."
The world, the world that needs to keep going on to give his own future a place to live. Jack takes in the ship that they're on. "The people here are looking for a place to call home. We're lucky to still have that home still."
Jack laughs at the remark about pink being more her color than his. "No, pink isn't exactly my color. I'm sure Alisa's just fine. I suspect she might have a very long line to wait in."
no subject
Gwen lookes around the ship and nods her head in agreement. "I don't know how I would feel if I didn't have a home to go to. Not that I don't love traveling in space and through time, but I need reality. I need an Earth beneath my feet. To see water crashing. I miss Cardiff Bay."
Her eyes narrowed and she looked up towards the ladies washroom. "How long has she been gone?" Biting her bottom lip, she wonders if she should hand Anwen to Jack and go check up on her. "I... I can go see how she's doing? She is pregnant. Maybe that's all it is. When I was pregnant, I was in the bathroom a lot." She sighed. "I'm sure that she's fine?"
no subject
Jack glances over towards one of the large viewing windows and he goes to move the dirty kids out from the even equally dirty kids seat to place them in their prams. "It's what I love about our location in California. I have that Earth on my feet and there's plenty of crashing water." Jack is ready to leave the twins with someone in the TARDIS and with his luck there's always someone there.
He glances back to the ladies room and he is still worried. "She uses the bathroom a lot. That I'm familiar with at this point in her pregnancy." He grabs hold of his lip and he thinks. "Unless the line was a mile long, she should of been back by now." Jack's not exactly comfortable with how long she's been gone. Is Jack the type of husband to go sticking his head in the ladies room? Yes. Still, he won't be a total pain in the ass. "Why don't you leave Anwen with me and see what's going on."
no subject
Slowly, Gwen rises to her feet and hands her daughter off to Jack. "It would be better if I go check on her. It is probably nothing and we'll be laughing about it later." Her brow furrows and she looks down at her watch. "Just how long has she been gone, anyway?"
no subject
Cardiff was nice while it lasted for well over a century for Jack and he misses what was home for so long. Still he had enough of bad memories.
"I'm going to say a pee break doesn't take over a half hour." Jack takes hold of Anwen and he lets her play with the buttons on his coat. He shifts the wee one so she's right at his hip and can get that important good view. "If it's worth a thousand words you can take a few pictures."
no subject
Once inside, her eyes widen at what she sees. The room is a mess, blue water everywhere on the floor. "Looks like the cleaning crew has the day off," Gwen murmured to herself. The room is empty, not a sound around her. As she checks all the stalls, she sees no sign of Alisa either. And that bothers her. The woman couldn't have just disappeared. Could she?
Gwen comes back out a few minutes later and returns to the table. She's not smiling as she approaches. Being the bearer of bad news is never a good thing. "Jack," she says softly. "She's not in there. I think we need to take the kids back to the TARDIS and see if this ship has CCTV."
no subject
Jack back in his chair and he was bouncing Anwen on his lap. Once Gwen came back and the moment he saw the look on Gwen's face he stood up quickly. The color on his face drains away and he tries to keep himself calm for the sake of both the twins and Anwen who's in his arms still. "I've got her, take the twins into the TARDIS and we'll see if we can find anything resembling CCTV on this ship."
There has to be cameras everywhere and his six month pregnant wife couldn't of just vanished. Jack knows humanity was desperate during these times but not that desperate.
no subject
Gwen moved over to the twins and took hold of the pram. "It looks like a mess in there, Jack. There's water all over the floor. Whatever happened, she put up one hell of a fight."
no subject
He leads her into the TARDIS and he places Anwen down on the floor once inside. "Alisa wouldn't just let anyone grab her. That sounds like her. I'm going to go look around to see if I can find any cameras." There's an innocent look on Jack's face and he glances at his boys in the pram. "I need someone to keep an eye on the two while I'm gone."
no subject
"I will look after them. I know how you feel, Jack. I will watch the little ones till you return. I'll see if the TARDIS can any find any camera footage on the ship." She raised a hand and wagged a finger at him. "But I know you. You come and find me if you go anywhere. No hunting without backup. The TARDIS can protect the little ones if we really need her to." Gwen gave Jack another hug. "Be careful."
no subject
With the gun reholstered he smiles. "Thanks. Both of you. Thank you. I'll be back if I find anything." Jack was going to make way for those doors and only to find Gwen giving him another hug, and he leans into it to return the hug. She's right, Jack's going to get himself into trouble and The Doctor is out there. "I'll see if I can get in touch with The Doctor."
The hard part will be the CCTV cameras located inside the heads of the Smilers.
