Summer Vacationing through Time and Space
When: Moving Day Plot
Who: Ianto Jones
mrcoffeejones/OTA
Where: The Doctor
stetsons_r_cool's TARDIS
What: Jack gave Ianto word about Torchwood will be needed on his Doctor's TARDIS and Ianto knew he would need to put all their gear that still worked or hopefully will work once they leave Earth.
He's taking in the sights of the new TARDIS and gone is the old coral look for something sparkly with various layers along with stares. Ianto is hoping things are in the same place as he lugs most importantly food down into the TARDIS kitchen. "You look great old girl. You just had to go for the new and sparkly didn't you? I'll try to keep Jack away from that swing so he can't stare up pant legs or skirts."

"Hello girl," she murmured, gently giving the console a tender rub. "It's good to see you again too. I really do like the new desktop theme. Much more female than the last one." River wandered around the console before sitting herself down comfortably in the adjoining chair. "So, who are you and how did you come to be in the TARDIS? One of the new companions? Amy and Rory have never mentioned you. I kind of wish that they did."
no subject
"I'll have to try very hard then and I'm not exactly sure how you got inside." Ianto won't say, the doors were open while he was bringing supplies in. The question is more or less directed towards the HUB grounds. "Companions? You know him then." This makes it easier for Ianto as he lowers his gun and he quickly holsters it again. "Amy and Rory? I don't believe I met the two."
no subject
River winks at Ianto and crosses her legs, making herself comfortable in the chair. "I have a key to the TARDIS. She knows me. Don't you girl," she called out to the TARDIS. "Amy and Rory are a married couple. Travel with the Doctor. Leggy ginger and a geeky kind of man at her side." She shrugged her shoulders. "And you still haven't answered me. Who. Are. You?"
no subject
He has his own key among the rest of his but he doesn't pull it out to show to her. "Jones. Ianto Jones. How do you know Jack and The Doctor?" He asks her and he glances over the new console room of the TARDIS and then back to this very strange woman. "I know Jack's reputation well enough and I'm going to ask who are you?"
no subject
Reaching below her blouse, River pulls up a necklace. On it, a key hangs as a pendant. "I know the Doctor very well. He doesn't give a TARDIS key to anyone, you know." River winked at him. "River Song. Though you probably hasn't heard of me. I'm the Doctor's little secret. He doesn't like to talk about me."
no subject
He sees the key and he pats himself down to drag out his own keys and there among the keys to various locations inside the HUB and elsewhere. "No, no he doesn't." That helps him relax just a little bit and he crinkles his brow a little bit. "He's never mentioned you before, no." Ianto's Doctor has recently regenerated but he knows he's just like Jack with numerous secrets tucked away all over the place.

Her smile starts to fade. She's not surprised that the Doctor hasn't mentioned her. A part of her worries if he's forgotten her already. "It's complicated. I'm from the Doctor's future, but he doesn't know me yet. Time lines, wibbly wobbly... I help him, but I can't tell him too much. Spoilers. So... Maybe your Doctor doesn't even know me." And that would break her heart.
no subject
"Okay, that will make things complicated as there's rules concerning speaking of one's future time lines. I don't know how much of those rules apply here but I'd rather avoid finding out the very hard way." Ianto stuffs his keys back into his pocket and he walks around the various panels.
"He's shown me how to operate her in case of an emergency." He's become close friends with the old box during his time in her before and he pats the console a bit. "I'm almost scared to say, I'm looking forward to this trip."
no subject
River nods her head and lets her hands down, resting them on her knees. "Yes, you're right. I won't say too much. Still, things are going to happen. We have to help. In any way that we can. The Doctor, he's going to need all our help."
River jumped to her feet and moved over to the TARDIS console. "I can help. I've flown her a time or two." She grinned and looked at him. "If you turn off the thrusters when you land, then you actually won't get the noise the TARDIS makes when she lands. Though it is a pretty sound."
no subject
The one thing Ianto knew from when working under The Doctor's previous regeneration is that The Doctor is in control. "Jack can use the break." Ianto simply mutters to himself and gives her a nod of his head. "Jack said it was vital that he has all of the help he can get. There is something wrong with the other TARDIS as I'm sure you're aware of by now."
"I've never had to. I suppose that's a good thing but he didn't exactly show me. I paid attention to all of the levers and dials he used." Ianto points to his head and he might be able to pull out everything from memory. He managed to get into Jack's secured weapons locker once due to memory.
no subject
"I can see that about you, Jones. Smart. Very smart. Talented, clever, a bit of coy beneath the intelligence. You're just what he likes." River moved over to the console and started to look like she was going to press buttons, but didn't. Instead, she moved over to the monitor instead.
"Stars disappearing. No NASA program. We're losing things and it's not good, Ianto." She turned to him, raising an eyebrow. "What are we going to do about it?"
no subject
He wanders over to look at the monitor of the TARDIS to see if River can find something there he's not aware of. "I'm not exactly a fan of his life style, The Doctor's, but he's done more good and one can't exactly say no to him."
"How much further does this go until humanity no longer exists? We're all made out of stardust after all."
no subject
She winked up at him. "You can say no, you just have to wobble your way around the no. Make it sound like a maybe or that he thought of it. I can help you with that."
Her heart breaks at the thought. "We have to do something. Humanity can not disappear."
