This always happened to him. He got fiddling in the undercarriage and somehow, the thing that he had told Rory not to touch, Rory had touched and when the Doctor touched the thing Rory wasn't supposed to touch, everything went mad. Somehow they had managed to get sent back to the 16th century on the Kinestrious Planet where 10,000 Tolkien's thought he was their God. While that was nice (in retrospect), he had inadvertently left Amy behind in the 21st century. In America. This would not be good. She would not like having been left behind either.
He would be having strong words with Rory later. Only not.
But it was a nice thought to have. Now they were hurling back toward the 21st century. Los Angeles, California. That was a weird place, that was for sure. He was still sitting down in the undercarriage while the TARDIS hurled herself back to the right place, at the right time, to pick up his companions.
"Yes I know!" he said out loud, his goggles on and he looked toward the console above his head through the glass floor. "It was not like I did it on purpose you know! I told the stupid boy to stay out from under here, but he doesn't listen. They never listen. They just do whatever they want and that's it," he waved a hand as he used his screwdriver and sparks flew. "Now don't get testy with me," he pointed it up at the console, an empty threat. And her response was to make the landing as bad as possible and he fell out of his harness. "Now that was rude!"
He could almost feel the smugness coming off the TARDIS as he stomped up the stairs. "What are you stroppy for now! I said I was sorry!" he exclaimed, waving a hand up at the console. And just then the door opened.
