Andrew hears the squeaking and sees the movement in the pile of clothes Märet left behind, and struggles to free himself from his clothing and go help. It's harder than anticipated, though, and until he finally squirms backward out of the last article of clothing, his short limbs can't carry him anywhere without getting tangled up.
"Don't you even think about eating him!" he warns the owl.
Märet emerges from the clothing while Andrew is still struggling, and darts for Donna's nearest leg. Gone is the desire to run away - now he wants someone to protect him.
