When: After The Trial
Where: New York HUB/His Flat

Ianto is left to watch Jack's two sons for a bit, he had volunteered to do it but neither are being very cooperative as far as two five month old's go. They're far from cooperative and with two screaming kids in his flat it's going to make for a long day. It's not like he didn't volunteer his services.

"Holy crap, Yan. Are you torturing those poor kids?" Liz scowls and shouts over the crying as she walks into Yan's flat. The sound is awful. There's nothing worse than an unhappy baby. Except two unhappy babies, that is. "Did you try feeding them? Changing them? Burping them?" Liz reaches out to try and calm one of the children. "Singing? Can you sing?"

Liz takes David and tries making faces at him. "Maybe they miss their mom and dad." Liz tries bouncing and it's just as effective as the faces. That is to say, not one bit.

She frowns at Ianto before admitting, "I can't sing, either. Even if I could all I know are Beatles song some of the stuff the Doors did and I'm not singing Light My Fire to a baby!" She tries singing anyway after nothing else works, letting out a couple of lines of The Beatles' All You Need is Love. Maybe it'll work.

"What's so bad about Rhys?" Liz didn't get to meet him at Jack's party before everything went to shit. and there was too much going on for her to worry about needing new people when she was worried about her friends.

"Here, trade with me." Liz holds the crying David out to Yan and nods to Jon. "He seems to like Lennon. Try I am the Walrus or something." Liz continues to hum the song, hoping it does something. "What do Jack and Alisa listen to? Maybe that'll make them feel for comfortable?"

"Too perfect, huh?" Liz trades babies with Yan and tries singing a few lines of I'm So Tired to Jon, hoping it will in fact make him tired. She feels lost, so damn lost with these babies and it's scaring the hell out of her.

When David starts to cry she moves closer so he can hear her sing, too. She stop and searches her thoughts for that annoying earworm of a song that got stuck in her head once. The chorus comes to her and soon she's repeating the halo part of Halo again and again.

"God, I'm no good at this baby stuff!" Liz says, full of frustration.

"I can't believe that worked." Liz sighs relieved the babies have gone quiet. She watched them a moment before looking at Ianto, her tone and her expression more serious than she usually has with him.

"I did good? I mean...you think I'm gonna be a good mom?" She stops and looks away a moment. "If...I..." She exhales sharply before shaking her head. Might as well just come out with it. "Yan...Owen and I are gonna be...yeah..." She gestures to the twins. "We're having one of those."

Liz simply nods, her arms instinctively wrapping around her middle. "Yup..." She confirms. "Owen scanned me three times and I used every last one of Alisa's tests she keeps hoarded in her desk." Liz hand help wonder if that started after the whole trip to East LA. Alisa probably likes to be prepared to avoid trips like that again.

"No, no way." Liz shakes her head emphatically. "I'm fine. This fire never lets anything happen to me anyway. The worst that'll happen is something will take a bite out of me like it usually does and Owen's gotta stitch me up." She puts her hand on Ianto's arm, her tone pleading. "I can still do my job. Don't take that away from me, Yan. Don't make things change. I hate when things change."

"Thank you," it's in response to the congratulations and a preemptive thanks for not telling their boss about this.
